PGA Championship 2008

The PGA Championship and its historic Wanamaker Trophy will return to Oakland Hills Country Club's world-renowned South Course in Bloomfield Township, Michigan for the 90th PGA Championship, August 4-10, 2008.

Since 1916, golf's best professionals have been competing for the PGA Championship's Wanamaker Trophy. Past Champions include: 2006 PGA Champion Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Davis Love III, Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead and Walter Hagen. The 90th PGA Championship will be the third PGA Championship hosted by Oakland Hills. Oakland Hills also hosted the PGA Championship in 1972 and 1979, and most recently hosted the 35th Ryder Cup in 2004.

"Oakland Hills is honored to once again host one of the world's premier sporting events, the 90th PGA Championship, and personally I cannot wait to watch the greatest players in the world battle it out for the Wannamaker Trophy," stated Mike Mihalich, General Chair, 2008 PGA Championship. "In preparation for the Championship, we worked with legendary golf course architect Rees Jones to complete an extensive renovation of the South Course making it even more challenging and exciting than ever before."
