Tourism Industry News

Increased consumer confidence in the economy helped boost travel, creating more revenue to market and sell metro Detroit. And secondly, the Detroit Tigers race for the pennant returned the World Series to The D and it also had an enormous impact on Detroit on so many fronts: the positive headlines, the economic spending, the civic pride and the boost to our city image.

At a recent presentation to the DMCVB's Board of Directors, president and CEO, Larry Alexander shared a snapshot of 2012's accomplishments and a few highlights of the DMCVB's 2013 Marketing Plan.  This 2013 plan outlines strategies to drive business into downtown and suburban attractions and hotel properties.
