GreenFest, a two-day Earth Day event dedicated to celebrating wildlife and educating the community about environmental conservation. Discounted admission of $8 for each guest who turns in a Green Zoo survey, which can be downloaded at www.detroitzoo.org beginning April 1. Anyone who brings a recyclable cell phone to Noodles & Company in Livonia, Northville, Rochester, Royal Oak or Troy (two locations) to benefit the Detroit Zoo will receive a free appetizer and a voucher for one complimentary admission to the Zoo’s Wild Adventure Theater or Wild Adventure Ride during GreenFest. (Cell phones will also be collected at GreenFest.) GreenFest will feature the following activities (free with admission): Live entertainment, including children’s music and a hands-on drumming performance; Earth-friendly craft projects; Rock-climbing wall (weather permitting); Family yoga classes; Endangered-species and green scavenger hunt; Animal enrichment; Green Games Gallery hosted by the Detroit Zoological Society’s Green Team; Hands-on science experiments by the University of Detroit Chemistry Club; Exhibits by local conservation groups; plus Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax at the Wild Adventure Theater (additional $5 per guest).
